World Table Tennis Youth Contender 2025 at the Westchester Table Tennis Center

The Westchester Table Tennis Center (WTTC) in Pleasantville, NY, further solidified its place on the world stage by hosting the 2025 World Table Tennis Youth Contender Torunament. The WTTC joined with other sites across the globe including locations in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Croatia, Germany, India, Japan, Jordan, New Zealand, Oman, Poland, Quattar, Singapore, Sweden, Tunisia and many others.


Competing in the June 24-27 event, the WTTC hosted young table tennis prodigies from the United States, Australia, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, India, Philippines, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Following the four days of competition the champions were:


Girls Singles U11 – Tanisha Balamurugan, U.S.A.

Boys Singles U11 – Saivaishnav Senthilkumar, U.S.A.

Girls Singles U13 – Jen-Yueh Li - Taipei

Boys Singles U13 – Jaden Jia, U.S.A.

Girls Singles U15 – Sunny Zhang - Canada

Boys Singles U15 – Andy Maqueira – Cuba

Mixed Doubles U15 – Kef Noorani, U.S.A. and Irene Yeoh, USA

Girls Singles U17 – Misuzu Takeya, Japan

Boys Singles U17 – Steven Moreno, Puerto Rico

Girls Singles U19 – Misuzu Takeya, Japan

Boys Singles U19 – Nandan Naresh, U.S.A.

Mixed Doubles U19 – Aditya Sareen, Australia and Kheith Cruz, Philippines

It is likely that in future years many of those competing in the past week’s WTT Youth Contender Championship will make it to their respective countries Olympic teams joining several other Olympic team members from different countries have competed at the WTTC including Team USA members Jimmy Butler, Juan Liu,  Zhiwen He, Lilly Zhang, Kanak Jha, Rachel Sung, and Lily Zhang and, from other nations, Zeina Rashid (Jordan), Robert Gardos (Austria), Zoran Primorac (Croatia), Kokou Fanny (Togo) among others.

The Westchester Table Tennis Center (WTTC), received the USA Table Tennis 2024 Gold Medal Award recognizing it for achieving the highest overall ranking on the USATT Club Leaderboard. Located in the Westchester County municipality of Pleasantville, the WTTC has been operating since 2011 and has hosted numerous national and international tournaments at both the amateur and professional levels which have been previously covered in MetroSports Magazine.
