PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.  Some of New York’s best table tennis players converged on the Westchester Table Tennis Center on Sunday, August 16, for the 2026 USA Table Tennis New York State Championships, bringing together elite competitors and rising young players in a full day of competition.

The championship, sanctioned by USA Table Tennis (USATT), featured 16 events for men, women, boys and girls, with competitors battling for state titles, trophies and a share of the tournament’s prize money.

The tournament, held at the Westchester Table Tennis Center (WTTC) in Pleasantville, NY, showcased the remarkable age range of competitive table tennis, with young competitors sharing the venue with accomplished adult players. WTTC owner Will Shortz emphasized that the sport can remain a lifelong pursuit, noting that players can begin as children and continue competing well into their 90s.

Highlighting that span of age ranges, the 2026 USATT New York State Championship event highlighted the athletic abilities of 44 players in age groups ranging from under 11 years of age to 70 years of age and over. After an intense day featuring 140 individual matches played, the newly crowned 2026 New York State Champions are:

The championship also underscored the increasingly important role the Westchester Table Tennis Center plays in New York and American table tennis. Located on Tompkins Avenue in Pleasantville, the facility encompasses more than 21,000 square feet and features 30 competition-quality tables. It regularly hosts USATT-rated tournaments that attract players from throughout the United States and internationally. The center has become a major hub for competitive table tennis in the Northeast, providing an opportunity for local players to compete against some of the strongest talent in the state while introducing younger players to championship-level competition.

The New York State Championship was another major event in a busy 2026 season for the center. Earlier this year, the WTTC hosted the USATT Northeast Regional Championships and has hosted professional competitions of the national Major League Table Tennis, and international T2 Diamond League. PingPongParkinson, and International Table Tennis Foundation.

With 16 championship divisions contested under one roof, Sunday's event offered a snapshot of the depth and diversity of New York table tennis, and further established Pleasantville as one of the state's premier destinations for the sport.
