The New York City Attitude of the professional Team Combat League (TCL) scored their second season championship in TCL’s three-year history by defeating the Philadelphia Smoke in the 24 round Championship Finals event on August 31st in Glendale, Arizona.

The TCL consists of twelve professional boxing teams in cities across the nation with teams in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Antonio. The NYC Attitude won the championship in 2023 the TCL’s inaugural season, the Philadelphia Smoke were crowned champions in 2024 and, the final round of the 2025 Championship pitted the 2023 Champion NYC Attitudes against the 2024 Champion Philadelphia Smoke.
On their way to the Championship match, the NYC Attitude took on and defeated the Las Vegas Hustle in the semi-finals and the Boston Butchers in the quarter-finals.

Each match consisting of 24 rounds is broken up into three periods. The first 8 rounds are the Launch Rounds, rounds 9-16 are the Middle Rounds and rounds 17-24 are the Money Rounds. The fighters, separated into weight classes compete in one round which adds to the competitive action and intensity. The TCL notes that it “is the only major team sports league to feature active members of both genders on the same team.”
Each round is scored by a panel of three judges licensed by the local Boxing Commission of the state in which the event is held. If a round is decided on the basis of points assigned by the judges, the round is scored 10-9 for the winner, If a knockdown occurs the round is scored 10-8 and, if two knockdowns are scored against one of the participants, or if the referee stops the contest, the round is scored 10-7 for the winner.
TCL employs an exclusive point scoring system and each round is scored individually. Judging is carried out by a panel of three judges which are licensed by a State Athletic Boxing Commission. A round is scored 10-9 for the winner of a decision based on points. If a knockdown occurs, the scoring is 10-8, and in the case of two knockdowns or a stoppage, the round is scored a 10-7.
