For the past 222 years, members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) have been racing to the sites of disaster and putting their lives on the line in service of others. Three Hundred and Forty-Three sacrificed their lives on 9-11 and many more have since succumbed to 9-11 related illness. What better way to recognize the heroes and heroines of the FDNY than with a contribution to the Widows and Childrens Fund for families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. NASCAR’s FDNY Racing Team in partnership with Kristina Esposito Racing, are contributing all funds raised to the Widows and Childrens Fund.

The readers of MetroSports Magazine, the residents of the sound shore Village of Mamaroneck, and Metro-area fans of racing would all be familiar with the up-and-coming race car driver and Rye Neck High School senior Kristina Esposito and Mamaroneck resident Jim Rosenblum who owns the #28 NASCAR Gander Series FDNY Racing Team. Our prior issues and online articles have featured both Kristina Esposito Racing and Jim Rosenblum's FDNY Racing teams and we'll continue to provide coverage of their progress.

Kristina will be racing on the weekend of February 15-16 in the Formula and Automobile Racing Association (FARA) event at Homestead-Miami Speedway, piloting the #66 BMW-Z4 for the TLM Shift Up Now Team. Fans who stop by the #66 garage and make a contribution of $10 or more to the Widows and Childrens Fund will receive a thank you gift of Kristina’s goodie tote bag for each donation made. Included in the bag along with other swag is an autographed 8"x10" poster or Kristina which we believe is sure to become a collectors item as her career progresses. If you cannot be there in person, please message Kristina through her Facebook page to make your donation and your tote bag will be shipped to you while supplies last.
